The websites and apps I used for our trip are almost same as last year. I left booking our train tickets from Milan to Bologna very late. The tickets I booked were a bit pricy compared to other time slots but it turned out that they were actually business class tickets! It was a good experience for all of us as we don’t normally travel on first class trains in England (too expensive!) and my younger daughter being under 15 helped to get us a FrecciaFAMILY Offer discount.

Ryanair

  • I found that Manchester – Milan is very reasonably priced so we flew to Milan again this year. We didn’t have any problems with our flights.

Booking.com Expedia Hotels.com Lastminute.com

  • I enjoy searching for hotels to find good deals or discounts. I usually explore these websites to see if there’s something suitable. Many of the hotels listed on these platforms provide the benefit of free cancellation, either a few days prior to arrival or even on the day of check-in. This year, I booked our accommodations through Booking.com and Expedia.

Trainline

  • This year, I booked all of our trains in Italy on the Trainline app again. There was a different feature from last year which is the “check-in” button to validate digital regional tickets. Trainline charges a very small fee when you book but I like the convenience of all my train bookings being on one app and it’s very easy to use.

Topcashback

  • I normally check Topcashback before I book/purchase to see if they give me a cashback. It’s normally a few % of your purchase but every little helps. Biggest cashback this time was the parking at the airport. I got 10% back from my booking!

holidayextras

  • I like to park at Drop & Go at Manchester Airport when I fly from T3 as it’s so easy and convenient. I normally book through holidayextras as it’s reasonably priced and I also get cash back from Topcashback.
