It was very last minutes that we decided to go to Italy so we were researching and net surfing a lot in order to plan our stay. Our plans changed a lot. We booked a hotel and then cancelled a few times until our final decision. We really wanted to go to Lake Como at first so we weren’t planning to go to the beach, but because of bad weather being forecast in the Como area, we decided to go to the beach. Although it wasn’t our original plan, we had a great time!
- This was our first time using Ryanair. We found a very good deal on our flight but because it all adds up, it wasn’t very cheap in the end (but it wasn’t too bad). We didn’t have any problems with our flights.

- I enjoy searching for hotels to find good deals or discounts. I usually explore these websites to see if there’s something suitable. Many of the hotels listed on these platforms provide the benefit of free cancellation, either a few days prior to arrival or even on the day of check-in.
- This app was a saviour! I like all my train bookings on one app and it’s very easy to use. I booked all of our trains in Italy on Trainline app. I was confused about validating tickets in Italy.
You don’t need to do so if you buy your tickets online. I googled to check and Trainline says so and I didn’t have a problem with not validating in Italy (as of July 2023).There was a different feature from 2023 which is the “check-in” button to validate digital regional tickets (as of July 2024)
- I normally check Topcashback before I book/purchase to see if they give me a cashback. It’s normally a few % of your purchase but every little helps. Biggest cashback this time was the parking at the airport. I got 10% back from my booking!
- It doesn’t have good reviews so I was a bit worried about booking tickets on this website but I didn’t have any problems with it. I bought tickets for a GUIDED TOUR OF THE THEATER at Teatro alla Scala.
